For readers of all ages on a spiritual journey to self-awareness, Two Feathers' colorful life and matter-of-fact outlook will entertain your spirit while warming your heart and soul. From his life as boy who earned ten dollars selling fish to a tourist (more money than he had ever seen before) to his teachings that encourage the down-trodden, this book will help you find your own truth and spiritual path, while it shares segments of Native life, culture, ceremonies, and legends.

"My first meeting with Ken Two Feathers rattled my ego, touched my heart, and opened new doorways to my soul. From the outset, we both sensed that this would not be a short-term acquaintance. Spirituality absorbed most of my life, and for me, the spiritual ways of the Native Americans were the most intriguing. Their way of life honors all living things. Their spirituality may appear simple, but it touches every element of life.

Two Feathers, a Penobscot Native, teaches that there are only four things in life that matter: Grandfather, Good Friends, Food, and Shelter. If you have those four things, nothing else really matters. Spellbound by his profound truth, I realized, these four things, as he called them, embodied the very nature of the teaching that I sought. My journey to self-discovery began with Two Feathers as my guide, teacher, spiritual brother, and Good Friend."

Well read in Native American culture and ceremonies, Kevin Laughing Hawk worked with Ken Two Feathers for ten years researching his life and the lives of other Native Americans to better understand Native American spirituality. These associations led him to participate and later assist in sacred ceremonies with several Native American Nations from the Northern Woodland to the Cherokee, Creek, and Seminole in the southern United States and the Pima, Navajo, and Apache of the southwest.

Graduating from Spurgeon College with a major in pastoral studies, Kevin gained his writing experience through more than twenty years of broadcast journalism. He approached this biographical and spiritual insight into the life of Ken Two Feathers from a participants view rather than as a reporter. Kevin has been a freelance writer and photographer for over twenty years. His articles and photographs have been published in regional and national publications. The positive response he received from articles he wrote about Two Feathers that were published by a Maine periodical encouraged him to write Two Feathers: Spiritual Seed Planter.
